Globsyn Collaborates with Tulane University for International Finance Program



Globsyn Business School – a pioneer in creating industry ready professionals has always given emphasis to the industry requirements while designing its courses. In this current time of financial meltdown when the need of the hour is quality finance professionals who can play by the rule of the game, Globsyn Business School has responded by launching ‘Post Graduate Program in International Finance’ (PGPM – IF) in collaboration with A. B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University, USA.

The Freeman School's Finance program has been ranked among the top 10 Finance programs in the world by the Financial Times in its latest survey of global MBA programs in 2008. The PGPM-IF program will help students gain insights into the real world of financial systems, with real-time trading simulations embedded at the core of the program. Tulane University faculties will travel from USA to Globsyn Business School, Kolkata to teach course modules. The course offers a wide spectrum of relevant subjects like Investments, cases on Valuation and Financing, Financial Modeling, International Banking & Finance, Derivatives, and Risk Management to name a few. Two advanced modules on trading will be taught at Tulane University at New Orleans, USA.

Dr. Venkat Subramaniam (Exxon Professor of Finance - A. B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University) while launching the program along with Prof. R. C. Bhattacharya (Director, Globsyn Business School) and Mr. Romit Dasgupta (Director, Globsyn Group) gave details of the program and also conveyed that being the intellectual capital of India, ‘Kolkata’ is the perfect place to start the program. Ms. Maria Lee (Director, Professional Education – A. B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University) shared the detail profile of the faculties who will be travelling to Globsyn Business School to teach in this program. Dr. Angelo DeNisi (Dean - A. B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University) in his video message said – “India without a doubt is the largest supplier of technically trained manpower in the world and we think this is an important place to be for the future, but we needed to find the right partner and I think in Globsyn we found the right partner.”
