Globsyn YI Organizes Workshop for Underprivileged Students



Globsyn Business School’s Yi Net team organized ‘Yi Kala’ – a learning event cum health camp on 17th and 18th of July, 2010 for 5 underprivileged schools of Kolkata. On day 1 the club members took the children for a trip to ‘Indian Museum’ where the main focus was on zoological department. The students were extremely happy after seeing the skeletons of human and their ancestors, various animals, fishes, whale, and dinosaur.

On Day two, a health workshop was organized in Globsyn Business School campus where around 85 students took part. The students were given presentation on digestive system and skeleton system. There were dental and eye checkups by Healthcare NGO Chharachhaya and they were also given hepatitis-B vaccination. After the event the teachers of the five schools were extremely happy and they were interested to do more such events in future.

The GBS Yi net members are also committed to organize more such activities to help the students of the underprivileged schools to have better future which will ultimately help in shaping the future of the country.

Induction 2010 at Globsyn Business School



On 13th July Globsyn Business School inducted the 9th batch of PGPM, 4th batch of PGPIB, and the 2nd batch of PGPM-IF students at its Kolkata campus. The two day induction program was inaugurated by Mr. Bikram Dasgupta (Chairman & CEO, Globsyn Group), Prof. Pratip Kar (Director, Globsyn Business School), Mr. Utpal Sengupta (Strategic Advisor, Globsyn Group), and Mr. Romit Dasgupta (Director, Globsyn Group) by lightning the lamp.

The theme address of the event was given by Mr. Bikram Dasgupta where he explained to the students the importance of transition from a under graduate college student to a matured, responsible student. He also asked to students to get disciplined in order to become a successful professional. He advised the students to not to take the next two years as an extension of their graduation or post graduation days rather take it as two years of internship before they join the corporate world.

Prof. Subhendu Dey (Associate Dean – Academic Affairs), Prof. J. N. Mukhopadhyay (Dean – FD&R), Mr. Biswajit Chakraborty (Registrar) along with the faculty team, and other officials of Globsyn Business School were also present in the occasion.

Awards for GBS Rotaract Club




Rotaract Club of Calcutta Metro South, the CSR wing of Globsyn Business School this year has won ‘Best Project (Durga Puja at Old-age Home)’, ‘DRR’s Special Thanks Award’, and ‘Best President Award’ in the recently held ‘Rotaract District Annual Award 2010’ program of Rotary International District 3291.

The five day long ‘Durga Puja’ project was organized by the club members at an old-age home having around 40 male and female inmates. Apart from the traditional puja, the club members also arranged for ‘Bhog’ on every day. During the five days the inmates found a new family among the Rotaractors of Globsyn Business School.

Rtr. Sayantanee Bhowmick who led the club in the year 2010-11 was adjudged the ‘Best President’ for her contribution to the Rotaract movement.

The faculty team and management of Globsyn Business School were extremely pleased with these achievements of the Rotaractors and encouraged them to take more meaningful projects in future.
