Children's Day Celebration by Globsyn Yi

“Children are like wet cement; whatever falls on them makes an impression”- runs a popular adage. In its truest essence, Yi Kala brought forth a ‘Special Craft Workshop’ led by Ms. Namrata Jalan and her associates for the young girls at Liluah Correctional Home who have faced utter misfortune in their lives but are presently empowering themselves through self-education.

Filled with vigour and enthusiasm, sixteen Globsyn Business School (GBS) students had assembled for the event. At the very onset, the children engaged in fun and frolic by singing, dancing and reciting verses. Thereafter they were categorized into 3 groups for activities viz. Paper craft, Cushion making and threadwork along with Candle making. Volunteered by Yi Kala members and GBS students these activities were conducted in sync that significantly aligned with our prime objective of teaching them sellable art. The exuberance in their participation depicted their joy of learning in unison.

The girls were elated when their exhibits were appreciated and later collected by Yi Kala members. Some GBS students also offered old books, clothes and toys as token of love which brightened up the young faces.

It was an educational and inspiring event enriched by the illustrious presence of Mr. Romit Dasgupta (Director, Globsyn Group) and Ms. Oindrila Dasgupta (International Business & Academic Planning Group, Globsyn Business School).

We, the Yi-GBS Net members look forward to participate in such community-service projects and propagate Yi’s dream of a developed nation as we promote the positive attitude of “We Can, We Will”.

Globsyn Business School always believes that for wholesome development of its students it’s necessary that they should not only focus on education and work skills but they should also give equal importance in human values. With this belief Globsyn always encourages its students to take part in social activities for the upliftment of backward and underprivileged strata of the society through its twin initiative of ‘Rotaract Club’ and ‘YI Forum’.
