On 26th April 2010 officials from Zhejiang University of China came down to Globsyn Business School – Kolkata campus. Mr. Wang Wenke (Vice President & Professor - Zhejiang University) and Mr. Homson Shaw (Dept. of International Exchanges & Corporation Vice Director - Zhejiang University) met Globsyn Business School’s Director Prof. Pratip Kar and discussed academic partnership opportunities between the two institutes.

Faculty Debate at Globsyn

On 6th of April 2010 the first intra faculty debate on the topic ‘The Indian development model is more successful and sustainable than the Chinese’ was organized at Globsyn Business School. The debate saw the Globsyn faculty team under the leadership of Prof. Malay Bhattacharya (for the motion) and Prof. Amitabha Ghosh (against the motion) lock horns with each other with hard facts, figures, and brilliant arguments. The event was judged by Prof. R. C. Bhattacharya (Vice Chairman, Globsyn) and Mr. Utpal Sengupta (Advisor, Globsyn) and they along with the house unanimously declared Prof. Malay Bhattacharya’s team as the winner. Prof. Supriyo Chatterjee won the ‘Best Speaker’ award.

Tulane Faculty Teaches 'Valuation' to Globsyn Students

In this era of globally networked financial markets it is very important for a management student to not only know about the domestic market but they should also be aware about the trends in the global market. Globsyn Business School (GBS) after identifying this requirement has come up with a program – Post Graduate Program in International Finance (PGPIF) with AB Freeman School of Business, Tulane University, USA whose Finance program is among the top ten Finance programs of the world. As a part of the curriculum of this course, professors from Tulane University are scheduled to fly down to Globsyn Business School campus to take important modules of the program.

After Prof. William Resse who taught ‘Investments’ to the GBS students, Prof. Salvatore Cantale, Clinical Professor of Finance and Economics, Tulane University came down to GBS, Kolkata to teach ‘Valuation’ last week. An alumnus of INSEAD, France, Prof. Cantale extensively covered the topic with special emphasize on Issues of Valuation during Mergers & Acquisitions, Financing, etc.

During his weeklong stay Prof. Cantale was extremely pleased with the infrastructure and quality of students of Globsyn Business School and expressed his desire to come back again to take more classes at the school.
