City Corporates Interact with Globsyn Students

For the last few weeks the Globsyn Business School students had a memorable time when top people from city’s corporate world came to the campus to interact with them. Corporates like Mr. Subir Chakraborty (General Manager – Indian Overseas Bank), Mr. Prabir Ghosh (CFO – McNally Bharat), Mr. Ashutosh Kumar (Zonal Head, East – Reliance Money), and Mr. Debraj S. Ray (HR – Dabur India) were seen discussing issues like – Sub Prime Crisis, Present Economic Scenario in India, Market Capitalization, Corporate Life, Commodity Trading in India etc. with the students. These sessions are helping the students to get an overview of the current economic & business scenario.

Prof. D. P. Chattopadhyay, HOD – Human Resource Department, Globsyn Business School has been adjudged as ‘Mr. Enlightened’ for creating learning-value among 91 hr participants from various stellar companies in a 10 day workshop held recently at Vedic Village. Mr. Anand Nayak (Executive Vice President – Corporate HR, ITC Limited), Dr. Zahid Gangjee (former Chief Executive-Manpower Planning, ITC & presently Management Consultant, Organizational Change & Development) felicitated Prof. Chattopadhyay for this feat.

GBS students at Acumen 2008

Globsyn Business School students took part in the ‘Acumen – 2008’ – a prestigious b school competition held at IIM, Calcutta on 22nd November. Apart from GBS other premiere b schools like IIM Calcutta, XLRI, XIMB, IIFT – Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur etc. were also part of the event. Our students participated in the quiz and debate competitions and had a very good time with their competitors.

Dual Session by Top Corporates

Friday 21st November saw two big names of the industry, Mr. Dibyendu Bose (MD – TMILL) and Mr. P. K. Chatterjee (President HR – Duncans) coming to Globsyn campus and sharing their experiences with the students. The main focus of both the sessions was the present global economic problem and what could be the possible ways to solve them. Apart from that Mr. Chatterjee also described the prospect of HR in future, the pre requisites of a HR person. He argued that to become a successful HR person one must complete management education in HR. On the other hand Mr. Bose fully concentrated on the economic turmoil after giving a short introduction of his company. At the end of the sessions, the students put across their questions which were addressed by the two corporates.
