Rotaractors of Globsyn Celebrate Independence Day at an Orphanage

On the occasion of 64th Independence Day, the members of Globsyn Business School’s Rotaract Club (Rotaract Club of Calcutta Metro South) spent the entire day with the kids of Dakshin Kolkata Sevashram, an orphanage whose foundation was laid by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose himself.

The day started with flag hoisting ceremony which was followed by cultural event comprising song and dance performed by the inmates and also by the Rotaractors. The Rotaractors also staged a small skit for the inmates. There was a quiz on topics connected with Indian Independence along with small games for the children. At the end a sit and draw competition was organized and the students were extremely excited about this particular event. Between all these lunch was also served to all.

After the daylong event the happiness was evident in the eyes of the 60 inmates of the center. Rotaractors who were also very excited after spending the day with their little friends commented – “Though we are older in age and experience but they sure had a lot to teach us; the trust with which they held our hands, their happiness with the little they have, their ability to make us feel at home and on top of everything their ability to make them a part of us. Thank you for making our day so special.”
