On 27th February, Globsyn in association with CII organized ‘Union Budget Analysis 2010’ at the Park, Kolkata. The keynote speaker of the day was Mr. Bishwajit Bhattacharyya – Additional Solicitor General (Revenue), Supreme Court of India who termed this year’s budget as one of the finest budgets in past several decades. Mr. Bhattacharyya highlighted some important facts and figures like – Debt Servicing, Debt to GDP Ratio, Fiscal Deficit to GDP Ratio, Components of Expenditure, Components of Revenue, etc. and explained each of them from a different perspective which was otherwise overlooked by many experts. Apart from Mr. Bhattacharyya present in the discussion were – noted economist Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta who gave the Macro Economic Perspective of the budget, and Mr. Bikash Mukherjee (Group CEO, EMTA Group of Cos.) who shared the Industry Perspective of the Budget’s Impact. Mr. Mukul Somani (Chairman, CII(ER)), and Dr. Saugat Mukherjee (Regional Director, CII(ER)) were also present in this occasion.
