Globsyn CEO Chairs NASSCOM HRD Meet

Mr. Bikram Dasgupta, Chairman & CEO, Globsyn Group commented at the recently held NASSCOM HRD meet that in the present economic downturn there are less jobs but more work available in the market and that’s why he insisted that companies should focus to create more and more work opportunities for the competent people. He suggested that the educational institutes should focus on training students for work and make them industry ready which will help in removing the mismatch between education and work requirements and this is much more required because present companies are not able to focus in mentoring the fresh talents especially in the field of IT.

Apart from Mr. Dasgupta other panel members like – Ms. Anita Srivastava (Location head Kolkata & Bhubaneshwar, TED, Wipro Technologies), Mr. Joydeep Dattagupta (Executive Director, Delloite & Touche Consulting India Pvt. Ltd.), and Ms. Sagarika Bose (VP, NASSCOM Foundation) also suggested different approaches to counter the present situation from an HR perspective. Ms. Srivastava shared some of the innovative steps that Wipro has taken to help the company in reducing the manpower cost while maintaining the morale and confidence of the employees high. Mr. Joydeep replied to the issues raised by the audience and suggested that the companies instead becoming ‘hi-tech’ should focus on ‘hi-touch’ because – “Animals perform but human beings contribute”.
